I think maybe the important thing is to keep the focus on flexibility.

1. We can develop the web platform on either Wordpress or Core PHP

CORE PHP OPTION
If we were to go with this option, it would be created on a "vanilla" code base that most Developers are familiar with, thus offering them ultimate flexibility. The folder structure of the files would be the industry-standard MVC. The Technology "Stack" would be LAMP, which is the very same as Wordpress itself. It would offer more security, be easier to customize, evolve and grow and we would make sure all the same user-friendly features are included like WYSIWYG Editors, Menu Editors, SEO, etc.

WORDPRESS OPTION
We would develop their Parent Theme and Child Theme from scratch, with very few script and technology "dependencies", so it doesn't need to be updated as often as most Wordpress Themes or create constant conflicts with Wordpress, as well as the plugins they'll have to use. We can then create their important "features" like the Webtrition Integration as a custom plugin to try to make it less dependent so it also doesn't cause conflicts.

We already have established API capabilities that are RESTful PHP + JSON, as well as Core PHP + JSON for both the Core PHP option as well as the Wordpress Option. We've already developed our very own Custom Mobile API for Wordpress, which turns any Wordpress installation into an instant RESTful API compatible API that's ready to be integrated with a Mobile App.

Mobile App creation and integration with the Web version would be much faster and probably less expensive with the Core PHP Option just because we already have such a robust website solution/platform already created. We'd of course have to shore it up some for their "website" needs, but all the data would already be in sync with any Mobile App(s) we create/build.

We have a world-class design and branding team in-house, so the design aspect will be easy for both web and mobile.

The deployment of both the website product, as well as the Android Mobile App and iOS/Apple Mobile App and keeping all 3 products in sync and unison as far as data seamlessness across all 3 will be our primary focus - as well as the Webtrition integration.

Also - as a side note, it'll be much easier to create unique Admin features and an Admin Environment with the Core PHP option because we already use our Core PHP Platform as an Admin Dashboard. In addition, because we have a large Online App Management System, which we developed custom, in-house, this could be used to create a similar system for the Client to manage all their Apps, as well.
